About Golden Horseshoe Golf Club

The 2016-17 renovation of Robert Trent Jones Sr.’s original 1963 design of The Gold Course was directed by his son, Rees, known as the “Open Doctor” for his expert renovations of many U.S. Open courses.  The Gold Course is one of the most highly-touted golf courses in the region, including recognition by Golf Digest as No. 67 on its list of America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses while GOLF Magazine ranks it as No. 55 on its list of the Top 100 Courses You Can Play.   The Green Course, the other championship golf venue, has played host to a number of USGA National Championships as well as Virginia State Golf Championships.
